People: A little bit about us

Jolynne Roorda is the artist behind Folk Theory's dynamic style. As the founder/director of Arts + Literature Laboratory in New Haven, CT, Jolynne learned first-hand about starting and sustaining an organization. She has put her design skills to work for many businesses, nonprofit organizations, and artists in and around New Haven, where she also served as Public Relations Director for Creative Arts Workshop. She currently lives in London, England.

Mark Stricker has put his writing and editing skills to use in a wide range of environments, including a top 25-market television newsroom, and numerous nonprofits and academic institutions. He has worked as a writer, editor, and proofreader on various award-winning publications. His experiences have equipped him with an adaptive writing style that is fast, accurate, and effective. He holds a B.S. in Communications and an M.F.A. in poetry. He also teaches part time at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT, where he lives.

Photography: Harold Shapiro has over 25 years of experience. His clients include Yale University, Regional Water Authority, New Haven Symphony, Connecticut College, United Way, Connecticut Lottery, and Neighborhood Music School, among many others. He was recently inducted as a Fellow at Jonathan Edwards College at Yale University. He is the head of the Creative Arts Workshop Photography Department in New Haven, CT.

Illustration: James Clawson's illustrations have been used in various high-profile projects, including clothing designs and annual reports. Jim works in a multitude of styles, providing affordable custom illustrations for Folk Theory clients.
